3TI is involved in the development of Muscat International Airport as a Design Sub-Consultant for airside/landside infrastructures under Main Contract MC1. The project regards the construction of a twelve million passenger terminal with an area of 350,000 m², a new 4,000 x 60 meter runway and associated taxiways, a new Air Traffic Control Tower and Air Traffic Management Centre. The project also includes a new ATC Contingency and Training Centre, new access road, a 6,000 vehicle car park and more than 50 ancillary buildings.
The project is to be developed in two phases:
Phase 1 – Operations from the existing Terminal using the new Northern runway, ATC Tower and associated systems;
Phase 2 - Full operations from the new facilities utilising dual parallel runways.
