Kindergarten Sunrise School | Giovanni d'Ambrosio
Bali / Indonesia / 2002
Designed for kids. It develops such themes as sense of touch and learning.
The project show how the component of the architecture become an active part with the nature. It is an organic architecture.
Central beam is the heart of the project. It is built in cement and it contains, like in a giant plant pot, soil and hanging plants that will cover plate roof of the little school. Plants with their branches will expand on a natural fibre net placed at a distance of 40 centimetres from the roof and that by containing the leaves creates a refreshing shadow for sheet roof.
Typical vegetation such as kiwi or zucchini plants will be useful for teaching purposes and to give information and knowledge about natural evolution process of such plants. Furthermore, they will also become food for the children of the kindergarten.
Sun passing through the glass of the skylights will be filtered by the plants, enriching with suggestions and shadows’ vibrations space beneath them.
