Musée Dom Robert et de la tapisserie du XXe siècle au sein de l'Abbaye école de Sorèze | n!studio Susanna Ferrini

Il “Musée Dom Robert et de la Tapisserie du 20ème siècle”, situato nella Abbazia-école de Sorèze, polo d’eccellenza  rurale e d’interesse regionale, è il luogo d presentazione della collezione di arazzi dell'Abbazia d’En Calcat, il cui fondo comprende 55 arazzi di Dom Robert e 33 di altri artisti del XX secolo.

Il progetto architettonico prevede il restauro di una parte dell'Abbazia, oggi in disuso e la trasformazione di queste aree in spazzi espositivi.

L’allestimento segue la configurazione degli edifici, senza alterare la percezione complessiva delle spazialità originarie con un sistema di allestimento chiaramente individuabile, flessibile e reversibile, diviso in 5 grandi sezioni : “Un homme - Un paysage - Une œuvre, Naissance d’une vocation artistique et découverte de la tapisserie, L’œuvre tissé de Dom Robert - Une approche thématique, L’atelier Goubely - Technique de la tapisserie de basse lisse, : Aspects de la tapisserie du 20ème siècle”.

Gli spazzi di servizio e di lavoro legati al Museo sono collocati in “volumi autonomi” disposti lungo tutto il percorso espositivo. All’interno di questi volumi si trovano: spazi di documentazione, per bambini, sale video ma anche le riserve degli arazzi e un laboratorio di restauro.

In effetti, il tema di conservazione delle opere e la loro rotazione è completamente integrato nella concezione e configurazione del spazio e nell'immagine del museo ed è esposto al pubblico.

Il progetto ricrea un'atmosfera coinvolgente che favorisce la comprensione e l'approccio ai contenuti della mostra attraverso le opere, i pannelli informativi e le installazioni multimediali.

“Musée Dom Robert et de la Tapisserie du 20ème siècle” - located in the Abbey-school of  Sorèze -  is an important cultural and rural Regional center, and it’s  the scene chosen to show the tapestries collection property of the En Calcat Abbey. The collection includes 55 tapestries by Dom Robert and 33 tapestries by other XX century artists.

The architectural project includes the restoration of some  interior spaces of the Abbey currently disused, and their trasformation into exhibition areas.

The exhibition favors the building configuration  and it doesn’t change the original interior spaces perception. The exhibition project follows the concepts of flexibility and reversibility. It’s divide in 5 sections:  “Un homme - Un paysage - Une œuvre” (A man – A landscape – A work), “ Naissance d’une vocation artistique et découverte de la tapisserie” (Birth of an artistic vocation and tapestry discovery),” L’œuvre tissé de Dom Robert - Une approche thématique”(The weaved work by Dom Robert – A thematic approach) ,” L’atelier Goubely - Technique de la tapisserie de basse lisse” (The Goubely atelier - Technique of low-warp tapestry), “Aspects de la tapisserie du 20ème siècle” (Elements of the XX century tapestry).

Laboratories and workspaces are placed in independent “boxes” along the exhibition path. Inside these volumes are located: documentation rooms, children’s areas, video installations areas, restoration laboratories and  tapestries storage.

The conservation theme and the concept of alternation in exhibition  are two central elements in the museological project and they are totally integrated with the interior historical spaces.

To promote understanding the exhibition contents,  the project recreates an immersive atmosphere through works, information panels and multimedia installations.
