Ace Hotel & Swim Club is a 173 room hotel, spa and resort located in Palm Springs, CA. It's on the grounds of a re-imagined and renovated mid-century modern motel, within walking distance of downtown and close to Joshua Tree National Park, the Salton Sea and Indian Canyons. There are outdoor spa services, as well as room service, free wi-fi, a gym and large, unique event spaces for meetings, weddings and parties.

The rooms incorporate earth-friendly and sustainable elements, like recycled materials, low VOC paints and vintage furniture. The design is organic and bohemian. Some rooms have a garden patio and some have a fireplace. Some have record players and vintage vinyl to play or take home for a small price. There are communal fireplaces located throughout the hotel.

Our on-site restaurant, King's Highway, serves a fresh take on classic American diner fare and world desert cuisines. On weekends there are DJs or live music at the pool. Almost every night there's something going on at the Amigo Room bar — live music, DJs, bingo, crafting, karaoke and the occasional special event. And it's open late. We also throw parties with live music and DJs during Coachella, Gay Pride, White Party and Dinah Shore — plus hold Ace-invented events like Summer School and Craft Beer Festival.

For the hotel's interiors, the LA-based design team Commune built on the Ace penchant for authentic design and honest materials. Commune's collaboration with Atelier Ace transports the guest to a bohemian desert camping experience. Utilitarian and pastoral, Ace Hotel & Swim Club caters to the guest who seeks the simple and sublime.

An eclectic assortment of local artists and designers contributed their talents to create a space with many voices. The grounds expand on this idea of community, with shared outdoor areas like communal fireplaces and patios that invite guests to come together. Built on the foundation of a 1965 Westward Ho Hotel, Ace Hotel & Swim Club maintains functionality and simplicity without sacrificing the renowned Ace aesthetic. Much of the property is an outgrowth of the original five-building structure, from the unearthed terrazzo floors in the restaurant to the rare, deep swimming pool from years ago. Just south of downtown, the location allows easy access to everything.

Rooms at Ace Hotel & Swim Club are designed to embrace indoor-outdoor living with cloaked, tent-like walls and a concrete floor. They open onto patios with outdoor fireplaces. Incorporating the Ace vision of functionality, the headboard of the custom-built bed comes equipped with cloth pockets for storage of reading materials. Each room features slatted walls where guests can hang pictures or artwork, fostering the personalization of every room. The color palette is soothing and natural. The furniture is vintage, lending a unique, handcrafted feel. Materials used include bleached canvas, wormy butternut wood, denim and hemp — all in line with Ace's commitment to honest, sustainable materials.

The Feel Good Spa is casual, simple and unfussy. Ingredients are pure and basic and come from nature. The staff is engaged and inspired, and treatments are accessible and affordable. The treatments are as practical as they are indulgent, with an emphasis on the pleasurable enhancement of health. The interior treatment rooms at the Swim Club include a sauna and steam room. The gym is right next door. You can get a massage poolside or on your private patio, nestled in rosemary and thyme — or get a mud bowl to share with friends.
