L’idea progettuale nasce dalla volontà di realizzare un edificio che si fonda e si integri con il contesto naturale. La scelta di confondersi con la natura circostante non impedisce all’architettura a manifestare il suo carattere artificiale, esplicitamente dichiarato dai materiali tecnologici usati (vetro e acciaio) e dalle scelte costruttive.

Le unità previste saranno ad alta efficienza energetica ed eco-compatibili. Il legame tra architettura e ambiente naturale è perfettamente espresso dalla forma delle due unità. Situate in un area collinare, aderiscono alle caratteristiche geo-morfologiche del terreno, sembrando due grandi sassi che si integrano perfettamente con l’intorno. L’orientamento e la disposizione è tale da garantire al tempo stesso privacy ed una ampia vista verso il mare. Le Pebble Houses, perfettamente uguali fra loro, si sviluppano su due livelli per un totale di 209 mq di superficie coperta. Al piano terra trovano collocazione la cucina e la zona living, mentre al piano primo sono collocate le due camere singole ed una matrimoniale. Le grandi vetrate del prospetto principale danno aria e luce alle tre camere del piano primo dalle quali si può godere dello splendido panorama circostante. L’ampia terrazza (55 mq) si protende in direzione del mare, fungendo anche da portico per il piano terra. Il guscio presenta due fori in copertura che contribuiscono a dare luce e aria agli ambienti interni ed una grande apertura laterale in corrispondenza della terrazza. Il riscaldamento dell’edificio è affidato ad un impianto radiante a pavimento. Tutto il sistema è gestito dalla domotica, che rileva in tempo reale il bilancio energetico e mediante la regolazione  dell’apertura delle bocchette di aerazione e della velocità dell’aria all’interno dei condotti, garantisce condizioni climatiche omogenee e stabili in tutto l’edificio.

The design of a building that merges and integrates itself with the natural environment is the main purpose of the project.

Although it reproduces a natural element, the artificial character of the architectural design is shown by the technological materials (glass and steel) and the constructive choices. The Pebble Houses will be eco-friendly and will have a high energy efficiency. The bond between architecture and natural environment is well expressed by their shape. Placed on a hill, the two unities adapt themselves to the ground geo-morphological characteristics. As a result they looking like two big rocks, perfectly integrated with the environs. The orientation of the two buildings allow at the same time privacy and a wide view to the sea. The Pebble Houses are identical to each other. They have two levels and a total floor area of 209 sqm. At the ground floor we can find the kitchen and the living area, at the first floor two single rooms and a double one. The large French windows placed at the front provide air and light to the three rooms at the first floor. Thanks to them you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape. The large terrace (55 sqm) stretches toward the sea providing a porch at the ground floor. The shell has two holes on the top which give light and air to the internal spaces and a large side opening where the terrace is. The building has a floor heating. An automation system measures the thermal conditions and, setting the ventilation, guarantees stable and uniform climatic conditions.
