The changing needs of a growing family triggered the complete reconfiguration and extension of their existing 1950 concrete house. They wanted a contemporary extension that would harmonize with the modern spirit of the original house.
The extension fills the void created by the split level of the existing house and is capped on either side with generous glazing. The living areas of the ground floor are distributed around a central core that has become the new focal point of the house. The new master bedroom found on the the second floor is secluded from the children's bedrooms and accessed by a glass catwalk spanning the entrance of the home.

Construite dans les années 50’s, cette  maison est conçue en béton. Les besoins des clients amènent à reconfigurer la maison de manière importante.Les clients, jeune couple avec trois enfants, souhaitent conserver l’aspect avant-gardiste de la maison d’origine.
Un agrandissement est superposé à la structure existante, ajoutant ainsi des pieds carrés aux deux niveaux existants.Les espaces de vie communs du rez-de-chaussée rayonnent autour d’un bloc central qui devient à la fois le  point focal du réaménagement de l’espace ainsi que le noyau d’ancrage à la montée d’escalier. La chambre des maîtres se trouve dans l’ajout au 2ième étage, isolée de la zone des enfants. Cette distinction est marquée par une passerelle de verre en surplomb du hall d’entrée. L’ajout est caractérisé par une forme en ‘’L’’ dont les extrémités sont ponctuées par un généreux pan de verre.
