De Wasserette is a hospitality concept focused on breakfast, lunch and coffee, located in a former Laundromat (wasserette in Dutch). When entering the location, the main focal point is the bar with an espresso machine, which has been placed facing the guests. The bar and rear wall behind the bar have been covered in roughly finished wooden slats, and the bar top is black steel. Industrial lamps above the bar provide the lighting in the bar section. Two high tables parallel to the bar separate the aisle zone from the seating area. In addition to the high bar stools at the high tables, there are seats placed along a rectangular top by the window and a six-person communal table in the corner. In the back of the space there is a small open kitchen where all breakfast and lunch dishes are freshly made.

Industrial-style workshop lights encased in cages hang at low points from the ceiling above the coffee counter. The rest of the place is lit by theatre spots mounted on exposed cable tracks.

"The owners of cafe had a very clear brief, they wanted the interior to be as unpretentious and personal as possible, undesigned almost. The use of timber slats (Oregon pine), black steel, combined with very simple details are the result of this brief."

"The treatment, unplaned, makes it almost seem like used wood, which gives it a slightly rough feel as well,"
