A quiet spot for getting away from it all, yet right in the heart of where it’s all happening. Just a stone’s throw from the Place de la Madeleine, in an area steeped in History, Art, and a thousand temptations to shop, the Hôtel de Sèze’s four stars shine brightly to offer you a dream of a break. Inspired by memories of curiosity shops – those intriguing places brimming with artefacts, objects, collections and excitement – the hotel interior, meticulously devised by architect duo Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy, places the emphasis exclusively on a mellow contemporary, naturalistic mood.

Throughout the 24 rooms and suites, the lobby, honesty bar, lounge, exercise area and Turkish bath… flora, fauna and serenely luxurious appointments grace the walls, creating a new and highly original atmosphere, with vibrant natural and graphic paintings. A feast for the eyes, naturally, but also for guests’ personal well-being in an enchanting, welcoming setting.

Like a poetic maze, each of the succession of rooms has a character all its own, some gently caressed by shimmering feathers or stunning pistils; others tinged with specks of mother-of-pearl or butterfly wings; or others still suffused with luscious shagreen or lustrous coral. These enigmatic impressions create a truly cosy atmosphere throughout.

The 22 Superior or Deluxe rooms, all in shades of satin and velvet, decorated with a collector’s design, are as great a joy during the daytime as at night. Their dimensions and appointments are designed for relaxing or working, taking strolls or enjoying the surrounding area, sleeping or living, in sheer elegance.

Nestling under the eaves with a view of the city, far from the hustle and bustle, yet in the heart of luxurious elegance, the suite is your home away from home, conducive to your well-being. This ideal haven of peace and quiet is fitted with the most refined appointments, and affords double views of the Eiffel Tower and the Scare-Coeur, both from the central bed or the balneotherapy bath. The exquisite lounge is a delight, and other features include moiré marbled mosaics and velvety lighting, superb textures and a writing space.

The public areas offer a mix of stylish, unique bespoke settings, refined furnishings – a treasure trove of impressions and discreet reflections, in a kaleidoscope of taste and comfort: the lobby, lounge, honesty bar, and the vaulted cellar given over to relaxation are my riad opportunities to share a new secret. A high-profile address, a contemporary jewel of a place for experiencing the joys of inspired luxury and spirited living.
