New garage features living wall Glostrup Municipality / Denmark / 2015

As of spring 2015, the accessibility of the new Glostrup Hospital in Denmark will be easier and faster. At that time, the new sustainable parking will be delivered with over 440 parking spaces. The car park will be constructed of materials with minimal impact on the environment, including a green façade of Sempergreen Vertical Systems.
The new 4-layer parking garage, designed by architects Christensen & Co., will have a prominent green architecture and a clear sustainable profile. Around the entire car park a green wall by Sempergreen® Vertical Systems is installed. The living wall, made up of pregrown Sempergreen Flexipanels, are planted with various species of flowering plants, adapted to sun- or shade-side. The whole is placed in conjunction with solar panels, creating a lush visual experience.
The green façade supports the ambition of the Glostrup Hospital to achieve a thriving and sustainable environment. The total area of the car park covers 9,600 m2.
The project is realized in collaboration with E. Pihl & Son and Grontmij A/S.
