Within an existing industrial building DGA has design the Headquarters for an important Kuwaitian company.
Mixing the industral taste with the Italian refine tradition, the headquarters present themselves with an industrial-chic mood.
The entrance to the complex is marked by a corten element tha filters the sun insulation and adapts the urban scale of the city to a human scale space.
The main lobby is the sober response to the twelve-meters level difference between the street level and the offices location. A transluscent metallic membrane reveals a precasted stair which dialogues with a rough marble volume that contains the elevators.
On the top of the stairs the control reception serves as a filter to the program, allowing access to the different typology of spaces:
semi-private (meeting rooms, canteen, toilets, prayer room and conference room) and private and restricted areas (directional, manager and staff offices).
The offices have been divided in two main zones, each one dedicated to a different branch of the company.
These two zones are structurated as an open space for the staff offices surrounded by the manager offices.
The creation of walls that are itermittent transparent and opaque is a solution to the request of the client to keep a balance between privacy and visual contact needed with the staff.
All the directional offices are located in the north axis allowing the view to Kuwait city.
