Sticks playground | Delavnica
innovative design playground Slovenia / 2013
Uniform »sticks« scattered like in a chinese Mikado game define the different play areas as a continuous timber scramble along this long and narrow playground in the town of Vrhnika, Slovenia. Nested in the structure are swings, slides, platforms, poles, rope ladders and a climbing slope, etc. The formations are abstract and with a little imagination one can see a dragon, a boat, or a mountain path.
This custom made creative playground is a collection of elements that address all senses and stimulate physical and mental abilities through sound, different materials and textures, mind and educational games. A certain game in this case is an interactive push-along exploration of the springs of the river Ljubljanica, which are a local natural phenomena.
Designed by Delavnica architects (U. Jereb, M. Juvanec, D. Gašparič)
