The Allam biochemistry building is a four storey steel frame structure on piled foundations built within a constrained and fully operational university campus. Two research centres, one focusing on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and the other on cancer, are located in the building.

Main challenges that were faced within this project included the sub structure design. The piling and ground beams had to be cantilevered to avoid exiting services within the constrained campus.  Important benefits to the client included maximizing the available space and providing link structures between the existing chemistry and biology buildings.
