DC House | GEZA - Gri e Zucchi Architettura

The project includes three different volumes: a two-storey main residence with a single-floor structure facing a private garden; an annex making a whole front northwards; a covered pool concealed from bordering buildings to the west. A large basement links all three elements and, by creating two underground patios, serves as a multi-purpose space, including a large wellness area.

There are no fixed destinations for the volumes, but for the pool. This is designed as a large transparent tub and makes the heart of the whole project at all seasons, day and night. The texture of exposed concrete mirroring the larch wood ceiling and the movement of water constantly contribute to create little vibrations, inside and outside.

The façades of the main residence are covered in large ventilated concrete panels, finished with absolute-black granite chip and anthracite pigment. The continuous pattern of these panels is broken by glossy black granite slabs and polished aluminium frames, whose aim is to lighten the huge weight of the façade by way of mirroring slabs and surfaces capable of reflecting the sky and the trees.

In addition to the outside views, all areas in the house entertain a special relation with the landscape of the property, resulting in a marked introversion with respect to the neighbourhood.

L'intervento si articola in tre differenti volumi: la casa principale su due livelli fuori terra con un corpo monopiano affacciato sul giardino interno; la dependance, che crea un fronte nord urbano e continuo; la piscina coperta che si chiude ad ovest verso le edificazioni a confine. Un grande piano interrato unifica le tre volumetrie e, attraverso la creazione di due patii interrati, ordina una serie di funzioni fra cui una grande area wellness.

Non esistono luoghi specializzati a parte il volume della piscina che, disegnato come un grande contenitore trasparente, diventa il luogo centrale dell'intero intervento durante tutte le stagioni, di giorno e di notte. La tessitura del calcestruzzo faccia a vista, la cui matrice si legge sul soffitto in larice, insieme al muoversi dell'acqua, crea piccole vibrazioni continue, leggibili dentro e fuori.

Le facciate della casa padronale sono state trattate con un sistema ventilato a grandi pannelli di calcestruzzo granigliato con granito nero assoluto e pigmento antracite. Il disegno dei pannelli a correre è stato mediato da lastre lucide di granito nero ed imbotti di alluminio lucidato, quasi a smaterializzare l'enorme peso della facciata mediante lastre e superfici a specchio che riflettono il cielo e gli alberi.

Oltre alle viste sull'esterno, ogni luogo della casa ha un rapporto speciale con il landscape disegnato nella proprietà, restituendo così un forte carattere di introversione rispetto all'intorno.
