Mud House Competition

This proposal is located in the village of Abono, in the Ashanti region, Ghana. This village is located next to Lake Bosomtwe, facilitating activities such as agriculture, fisheries and livestock, necessary for the livelihood of the local community.
After analyzing the site and the daily habits of the families of Ghana, we developed a design strategy based on the creation of spaces with different scales, that functionally organizes the proposal (dividing the private and social habits that every family have).
The plan consists in two rectangular modules with different scales and facades. The larger plant is free and corresponds to the interaction zone wich extends to the exterior, enhancing the connection with the environment by opening up completely the main facade. The smallest plan corresponds to the sleeping area wich the main façade is blind to the exterior, living to the inside and respecting user privacy.
