The main purpose of the design for the new multifunctional building, with public and private underground parking, is to realize a new congress centre for the SGR Group headquarters, with hotel and restaurant facilities. The congress centre and the hotel/restaurant are located in different architectural elements. The latter is located in a ‘blade’ shaped building, developed in height: in this way the volume defines a new façade to the green park, a big surface that can become a communicative support, a screen, used during congresses and events. The congress centre is partially underground, located under a horizontal slab, a surface raised on the ground to contain conference halls and define a large roof, partly paved and partly green, with the hotel building on top. The roof garden is useful for large events, banquets, performances, congresses and shows. The building is directly related to the street and to the new park, defining a progression in its building masses, from the existing headquarters to the open space of the park.

The new Chiabrera park is mainly divided in two areas by a large ‘fault’, a cut in the green surface that runs all along it, defining a direct link with the underground park and creating a rain garden, where parking areas catch light and air from outside. This sign defines on the ground two functional areas, a theme park and a green area with paths.

The museum building, for the most part underground as the parking, gives the possibility to maximize the green surface of the park. The exhibition areas inside is organized in two main parts: the introduction ramp at the entrance and a large open space area for multimedia exhibitions.
