Devoto House | Vanguarda Arquitectos

An urban house in the Federal Capital of Buenos Aires, designed for a young couple of musicians, with a very vast plan and a very narrow and long lot between division walls, which posed a design challenge regarding the lighting and ventilation of the interior of the different rooms. It was solved in three levels around an inner central yard that offers light to the main rooms: the upper floor hall and the sitting room, the kitchen and the dining room on the ground floor. In order to emphasize this characteristic, the sitting room was devised in double height with the upper floor hall as balcony over it. Thus, continuous spaces that fill the different sectors with natural light are created.

The plan is completed at the intermediate level with a study and a toilet on the front façade and a long swimming pool in the garden, with its service sector: bathroom, changing room and machine room.
The upper floor is made up of two bedrooms, a bathroom to the front and a suite to the rear with bathroom and walk-in closet.
The three levels are connected with a staircase, built in concrete and paneled in wood, in the center of the house facing the inner yard, which crosses the double height of the sitting room, becoming the center of the scene.
The basement, half a level underground, includes the service sectors: garages, laundry, bedroom, bathroom, storage space and a rehearsal room and music recording studio, especially equipped and prepared for the owners.
