FEI is a bar in W hotel which first launched in the third largest city Guangzhou, China. A large cubic space with 18m each side floats in the façade and exposed three sides are all glazed. We transformed it into a bar of three layers (~1000m²) covered by soft organic lighting skin with constant organic modification – like an aurora.
The first concept is to cover the massive architectural and structural glass opening with soft organic lighting skin which is new in the world. The skin of innumerable fibre optics controls colour and speed of flash, sparkles with constant modification.
The second is to place multi-layers of horizontal floor and perpendicular wall in the space surrounded by light.
Our aim is to expand Chinese hotel market by the design with high-impact. Organically sparkling façade allure not only hotel guests but also people walking by, to lead them in. As a result, it’s evaluated as one of the most popular bar in Guangzhou.
FEI suggests the new style of [Have fun in hotel] in the advancing China.
