House in Oji | Yoshiaki Yamashita
Kitakatsuragi District / Japan / 2009
It is a house for a family of five people located in a calm farmland. They wanted to live in an open area which allows them to feel close to the trees.
The house is divided into two buildings for private and public space. We provided space for the trees between the two buildings.
They can see the panoramic views of trees through the glass from the white cube building and the leaves like a picture from skylights and small windows from the idyllic private part of the house.
When they want to move between the two buildings, they can see the town and mountains in the distance beyond the trees with depth from the bridge of the windswept or glass-made corridor.
It is a house that combines closed nature and openness.
