The new Hotel du Niger architectural project originates from the mixture of different elements - position, context and accesses - with inspirations from the place - colors, materials and light.

The new Hotel will be placed alongside of the existing, in a position which enjoys a unique panorama of the river flowing at the base of the ripa on which the Grand Hotel lays.

The sun in Niger is also an enemy to defend against, the radiation is mainly zenithal and the idea to open the roof with cuts recalling the cretto comes from this. The cuts allow the enlightenment of the underlying garden and they create a chimney effect activating a circulation of fresh air from the bottom to the top; the movable external screens filter the solar radiation without blocking the exterior view in order to melt the new internal landscape with the exterior; with their movements the screens pitch the facades in an always different and unexpected way.

The new Hotel approaches the existing respecting its size and position, the restructured terrace (september 2014 - february 2015) melts the two buildings with new colors, materials and the addition of the new external bar. The new Hotel facade extends on the existing one with small screens covering the air conditioning engines and creating a soft continuity between old and new.
