Control Club is a very hip location in Bucharest,a place for culture- not just drinking- and live music, located just near of  the old city center.

We have been asked to redesign the inner court of the club.

The concept behind the final result was to create a urban garden with a jungle feeling to it, in contrast with the urban jungle of the city center. We thought of it like a green room, with ceiling and green walls. Plants were the main building material.

So first we separated the interior space with a "wall"  of bamboo plants that filtrate the noise, dust and the street views. For the "ceiling" we used a mesh of steel cables floating above the whole exterior space to accommodate the plants. The layout of the cables takes account of the very important and beautiful  historic building just on the other side of the street, allowing visitors too still enjoy this important view. We positioned the bar in the center and used it to divide the plan and host the plants on top of it, making it the focal center of the floor level.

For this project we refurbished the old tables and benches, reusing the metal and wood parts.
