Levis icon store buttenheim shop | plajer & franz studio
Berlin / Germany / 2010
the levis icon store in berlin is a small concept store designed by plajer & franz studio. the challenge was to redesign and rebuild the existing store in just 5 weeks before the berlin fashion week. on top: budget was tight!
the vision was to create a feeling of being in a typical old loft apartment with an industrial charme.
historical windows form shelf structures and window bars become cloth rai l s . some glass panes are original and others are glazed with acrylic panes with berlin “placestobe” printed on.
old radiators provide a basis for a presentation table which forms the center of the store and allows a varied presentation of products. at the same time it connects the two rooms seperated by 2 steps .
the changing rooms and the cash desk were built with historic door elements. levis merges with berlin culture by using historic architectural elements in a quite artful way!
