THE ADAPTIVE REUSE OF De Strandjutter AT Nieuwpoort.
The section of the building indicates that the roof is at the same level as the sea wall. The first stage within the concept, RECOGNIZABILITY. A steel structure, that starts from both entrances, shows the (almost) full length of the building. ACCESSIBILITY. The elevator-volume, which is also responsible for the recognizability, is referring to the work 'Le Vent souffle où il veut', by Daniel Buren. CIRCULATION is created by the existing structure.
