LOFT in CASALMAGGIORE | ARRIGO STRINA

Questo loft, situato a Casalmaggiore (Cremona), sorge sulla terrazza di copertura di una residenza in mattoni faccia-vista ed è affiancato da un appartamento a tre piani. Entrambe le case appartengono all’edilizia dei primi anni ’50. L’intento era di creare un’abitazione compatta e funzionale che, inserendosi nel contesto esistente, permettesse una vista panoramica del fiume Po dal soggiorno e dalla camera da letto, senza spostare gli equilibri stilistici dell’edificio originale. Il loft, diviso su due livelli di cui uno di 72 metri quadri e uno di 40 metri quadri, è supportato da una struttura in calcestruzzo sui lati lunghi e una muratura in  mattoni sulla facciata, il tutto rivestito lungo i lati da una membrana in corten per riprendere il cromatismo dei mattoni. Al piano terra sono presenti un ampio soggiorno direttamente collegato con cucina e sala da pranzo, una zona studio ed un piccolo bagno di servizio. Dall’ingresso è possibile accedere al piano soppalcato mediante una scala inserita in un telaio scatolare che riprende il tema del cubo, elemento che determina il design degli arredi del loft. La zona notte è composta dalla camera da letto con doppia cabina armadio e da un ampio bagno con vasca idromassaggio e doccia a soffione doppio. Il tema principale di tutto il progetto è la luce naturale enfatizzata dal doppio volume che consente di vivere lo spazio in maniera libera ed essenziale. La luce solare  illumina i piani attraverso un’unica grande finestra-parete, apribile grazie ad un sistema di apertura a serramenti basculanti e totalmente oscurabile mediante una copertura ad avvolgimento automatico fissata al soffitto. Per gli interni sono stati utilizzati materiali che vanno dal parquet in acero chiaro all’ardesia del camino e della parete principale nella zona notte. Gli armadi in noce chiaro e i mobili della cucina realizzati in corian si legano cromaticamente agli arredi della zona soppalcata, dove si trovano un armadio a parete in legno di betulla e la zona doccia rivestita in ardesia. Il riscaldamento a pavimento su entrambi i livelli garantisce il giusto grado di riscaldamento nei mesi invernali, mentre un sistema di condizionamento nascosto nelle tramezze consente un clima fresco e privo di umidità nei mesi estivi.

This loft is in Casalmaggiore, located on the roof of a residence in brick-face view and is flanked by a three-floors apartment. Both houses belong to the building of the early 50s. The intent was to create a compact and functional home, fitting into the existing context, allow a panoramic view of the river Po from the living room and the bedroom, with a stylistic shift balance of the original building.
The loft, split on two levels, one of which 72 square meters and one of 40 square meters, is supported by a concrete structure on the long sides and a brick masonry on the facade, all covered by a membrane along the sides in corten to resume the colors of the bricks. On the ground floor there is a large living room directly connected with the kitchen and the dining room, a study area and a small bathroom. From the entrance you can access to the loft by the stair placed in a box-like frame that takes up the theme of the cube, which determines the design of the furniture in the loft.
The sleeping area is composed of the master bedroom with double walk-in closet and a large bathroom with idro massage tub and shower with double shower head. The main theme of the whole project is the natural light and is emphasized by the double volume allowing you to live in a free space and essential. The sunlight illuminates the plans through a single large window-wall, openable thanks to a system for opening doors to overhead and totally darkened by a cover to automatic winding fixed to the ceiling.
For the interior materials have been used ranging from the light maple flooring slate fireplace and the main wall in the bedroom. The clear walnut cabinets and kitchen cabinets made ​​of corian bind chromatically to the furniture of the loft area where there is a wall cabinet in birch wood and covered in slate shower area.
The underfloor heating on both levels ensures the right amount in winter months while an air conditioning system in hidden partitions allows a cool climate and moisture-free in the summer period.
