Nature and artifice, the two big generating elements of the architecture. On one side nature, with its organicity and unpredictability, on the other artifice, the purity of the human intellect in three dimensions. Two completely different worlds forced to live in the same context clashing, facing and respecting each other. Many attempts have been made to create hybrids, but when one tries to imitate the other the risk of falling into the paradox is imminent. Artificial nature or natural artifice are self-evident examples.
It then becomes an equilibrist composition exercise, in which is essential identify a clear relationship between nature and artifice, where their differences will be the peculiar characterof of the project, where the border always changing, sometimes in a tactile way other in a visual one. What forms accredit to these worlds. The nature is organic, uncontrollable, the human mind must not intervene in an attempt to shape it or will fall in the paradoxes mentioned above: the only action allowed is to produce a basis for his birth. The artifice is pure, mathematician, is the form of thoughts materialized in a specific place; an element cut, carved and engraved with reference to the signs of the place identifying positive and negative.
So different and far they must coexist leading to the definition of tension that only the time factor will be able to solve.
The time, in fact, has characterized every single aspect, shape or thought. Designing today thinking about tomorrow, predict the city area and their social and functional aspect in order to define a dynamic composition that constantly changing. The architecture and its forms are bridges between the past and the present, are like footprints on the history of urban soil. Designing with time is just that; build bridges between the present time, which inevitably becomes the past, and the future; create footprints shape that can evolve annually monthly and even daily.

The background of these issues is Finland, a natural landscape with rarefy city. Plan in place like that is a completely different to plan in areas of southern Europe, because of the climate and geographical location. A crucial point will be that of light, which is the almost total absence in winter. The light, therefore, will not only be a useful element to illuminate and make liveable a space, but will rise to a new meaning, namely that of aggregation. It will be everywhere, will expand in summer and be created in the winter, thanks to it you will come to a new way of life, the creation of a 'pragmatic utopia customized to the Finnish context.

The project is structured in two areas: artificial and natural. The artificial part is a big plate composed by pure cut and all the function are below it. Public and private space are alternate looking for a new definition of the lifestyle. The plate is studied to amplify the light in the space below through changes of shape and using special lamp that ricreate the solar light; with this mechanism in winter, when will be dark early, under the plate there will be daylight. The light will not be only a lighting element, but will become an aggregation element.
The space below the plate it was thought like a port, a completly dynamic space where the facades of the building are composed by container and daily the shape of perimeter can change with the addiction or substraction of this element. The container also compose the image of living, infact they rapresent the private spaces of the social housing.

All the area change daily and change also the relationship between the nature and artifice; constantly the nature win the tension against the artifice to define a temporal mutation of the complex. With the passing of the years this area will become a natural environment. Urban Regeneration and Environmental Renaturation.
