Young family Apartment Refurbishment | Hana Rifaiová

Young family new living was at the beginning an old fashioned apartment with tiny entrance, little loggia, small kitchen and a bathroom available only from bedroom. Half room, next to the kitchen was 2 meters wide.
Biggest living room elegant space with balcony was supposed to stay a home of beautiful piano- as "concert hall" and classroom. The rest of the apartment was ready to turn into new living for 3 members of new family. We tried to bring light and space into all parts of apartment.Former kitchen and half-room where joined into new bedroom.Loggia and kitchen store where turned into bathroom with shower space. Entrance got some more bright space and custom-made wardrobe. Former bathroom and bedroom are now opened into one open living room with kitchen and library. Sympathetic owners have brought lot of ideas and also took risk as important fun part of refurbishment. At the end of process they decided to invite Feng Shui expert and apply this philosophy influence - he gave us advice to put bright colors to the main walls, especially green to bathroom space for better flow of positive energy. All these changes made this apartment optimistic and joyful place to live in.

Apartment is located in residential area which is called "500 apartments" - "500 bytov" represents the oldest blocks of flats area in Bratislava. The construction of the residential complex began in the postwar 50´s of the 20th century, at a time of intense migration of the people from all over Slovakia in Bratislava. Whereas in that living in Bratislava at the time was an emergency, the interest in newly built apartments was great, especially by young families. Today's form of residential housing 500 is different from other housing estates areas Bratislava can say that even other cities in Slovakia. It is the place of new businesses - cafeterias, design and architectural ateliers and model agencies.
