The project regards the complete renovation of a detached villa of 400 sqm s and an extension of 160 sqm. The existing building is completely redesigned with the installation of wooden facades with timbered shading systems. From the new-built garages a vertical distribution gets through the entire project and distributes the different (property) units. The new building (160 sqm), originally designed to be constructed with a wooden panel technology (X-lam), has been built with precast concrete panels covered in wood.
The project is built at the far end of the settlement, at the edge of a spruce pines and larches forest. The layout of expansion has been the result of the relationship between the forest and the available land. The volume of the corridor connecting the existing building and expansion, divides the section of the steep slopes into an upper garden and a paved plaza below. The new building is an insert to the existing volume and is detached from it both physically and in an expressive way.
A unique volume that concentrate the extension in a simple design and plays with the existing building both as regards shapes, explicitly modern, and materials. Brushed and heat-treated larch, split stone (gray gneiss) for the base and titanium zinc for the roof (rheinzink).

L’intervento prevede la totale ristrutturazione di una villa monofamiliare di 400 mq e un ampliamento di 160 mq. Il corpo esistente è interamente ridisegnato con la realizzazione di facciate in legno con sistemi di schermatura a graticcio. Dalle autorimesse (di nuova costruzione) una distribuzione verticale attraversa tutto l’intervento e distribuisce le differenti unità immobiliari. Il nuovo corpo dell’ampliamento (160 mq) originariamente progettato in legno con una tecnologia a pannelli (X-lam) è realizzato in pannelli di CLS rivestiti in legno.
L’intervento è realizzato al limite estremo del paese, sul confine con un bosco di abeti rossi e larici. Il rapporto con il bosco e con il terreno a disposizione della casa ha determinato l’impianto dell’ampliamento. Il volume del corridoio di collegamento con l’edificio esistente divide la sezione del terreno in forte pendenza in un giardino superiore e una piazza pavimentata inferiore.
Il nuovo corpo è un inserto rispetto al volume esistente e si stacca sia fisicamente, sia in senso espressivo. Un blocco unitario che concentra in un segno semplice l’ampliamento e gioca il confronto con l’esistente sia riguardo alle forme, esplicitamente moderne, sia riguardo ai materiali. Legno di larice spazzolato e trattato termicamente, pietra a spacco (beola grigia) per il basamento e coperture in zinco titanio (rheinzink).
