GLM was appointed by the Shilling Group to design and project manage the transformation of a traditional yet rough and uninspiring pub (known amongst locals as ‘Vietnam’). Located in the former brewery district of Edinburgh, GLM stepped in to provide design and building work. Working with contractor Prime Property Ventures and interior design firm, NoChintz, the pub now boasts a full re-design of the space. With a turnkey delivery to the client in less than 3 months, the bar opened for business in May 2012 and confidently exudes an overall calming, vintage and ‘up-cycled’ feel. The completed space confirms the whole design teams’ efforts in creating and bridging the gap between old and new in this sophisticated yet inviting pub.
