Cyklopen is a non-profit independent culture centre, financed by its users and guests. Its activities are based on a belief in diversity, ecology and a pluralist view of culture. The aim is to create a place where people can meet, create and be inspired. Cyklopen is constantly developing – so even though the building has been completed everything is always under construction.

We raised money, dragged ourselves through the bureaucracy, built, lost and built a new Cyklopen, because we think that Stockholm is a barren city. Not that there aren’t interesting people here, but because there is no platform where they can develop and make their voices heard. And we are not talking about the celebs who make a breakthrough with their art. We are talking about the ordinary people and their possibilities to lead creative lives and build their culture. Cyklopen is a rebellion against conformity, consumer culture and zero tolerance. We have created this together by a direct democratic structure with knowledge that we have fostered collectively in workshops and through “trial and error”. The house will be filled with your interesting projects!
