The Libeskind Residences are in the centre of Milan, in the heart of the historic Fiera di Milano area, on the west side of the new CityLife complex. To the east and north they look onto the public park and are bordered on the south by Via Spinola and on the west by Viale Berengario.
The structure. Eight different buildings of between 4 and 13 floors laid out on a classic courtyard model, segmented and recomposed to create an open plan that places each building in a harmonic relationship with the others and the surroundings. Each building is unique and unrepeatable.

The apartments are all different in terms of size, exposure and layout. The choice is between two-room or larger family apartments, and high-ceilinged penthouses with terraces. The system of balconies provides each apartment with external living spaces of varying depth and size. Interior spaces open on to the exterior through extensive terraces that are an authentic extension of the living space of each home. All of the apartments feature large windows with views of the park and across the surrounding area. The quality of the building materials, the architectural features and the scale all serve to guarantee extraordinary comfort. Access and services. Access to the Libeskind Residences is provided by spacious entrances with large windows overlooking the park. Particular care and refined design solutions underline the high profile of the buildings. All entrances are under 24-hour control and access to all stairwells is provided by main and service lifts. Each apartment is also allocated three parking spaces. The underground parking areas, with entry from Via Spinola, lead directly to the individual buildings with easy, convenient and secure access.
The architect. The complex was designed by Daniel Libeskind, a leading exponent of deconstructivism in American architecture and an innovator in both architecture and urban design. His many high profile projects include the World Trade Center Site in New York, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Danish Jewish Museum in Copenhagen, the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester and the Denver Art Museum.

L’architetto Daniel Libeskind ha presentato l’area residenziale da lui progettata, composta da otto edifici che si affacciano da un lato sul grande parco di CityLife e dall’altro si sviluppano su Piazza Giulio Cesare e lungo via Spinola. Si tratta di edifici con altezze che variano da 4 a 13 piani, per un totale di 380 unità abitative. Le caratteristiche degli appartamenti sono stati definiti sulla base dei dati emersi dall’indagine svolta durante il 2008 presso lo Spazio CityLife contattando oltre 2.000 possibili clienti.
I tagli vanno dal bilocale all’appartamento di grandi dimensioni fino agli attici a doppia altezza, con altezze interne minime garantite di m 2,90. Si tratta di tipologie uniche e inedite per il mercato milanese, caratterizzate da grande luminosità, garantita dalle vaste vetrate che prolungano gli ambienti verso gli ampi terrazzi coperti, con più posti auto per ogni appartamento e spazi comuni di grande prestigio.
Le residenze sono state progettate secondo criteri di ottimizzazione energetica e di rispetto dell’ambiente che collocano gli edifici nella classe A di certificazione energetica. Particolare attenzione è stata posta nei materiali, nei sistemi di riscaldamento e di condizionamento e nell’uso dei pannelli fotovoltaici.
Gli appartamenti saranno dotati dei più moderni accorgimenti in termini di domotica. Sarà possibile controllare tutte le principali funzioni domestiche tramite un sistema integrato che ne governerà l’accensione, lo spegnimento e il controllo, anche da remoto.
