Miss Clara by Nobis | Wingårdhs

One of Stockholms best preserved Jugend properties. Used to be a girls school in the beginning of the century like 1910. The first principle was Miss Clara Strömberg from whom we have borrowed the name of the hotel.
The ambition for the project was to create a very functional hotel with materials that would last long and age with beauty. Also to take care of the building and what was left of the Jugend design. all the window are original and also some of the flooring and the old staircase.
So the materials are limestone, leather and wood, also in the furniture with high quality that will age with beauty.
There are 92 hotel rooms, a Chambre Separet, a glassed terass like an Orangerie, restaurant with 80 seats, bar with 30 seats and some other spaces also including a gym and a swedish sauna.
We have been working with swedish materials like Tärnsjö Garveri for leather, Gemla for furniture and other items, swedish limestone.

The idea was to get a feeling af a mother but in the same time timeless designed hotel with a warm feeling but still not overdecorated. It should respond a little to the era when it was built but in a modern way.
