MMW was engaged by the Oslo Plan- og bygning to design a new information center in Oslo. The center is situated at Sukkerbiten in Bjørvika. For the development of the new information centre MMW focused on the possibilities inherent in the use of smart phones, the internet and social media to design a visitor and information centre accessible to all.
In partnership with PBE and Making Waves we developed a concept and design that will inspire future users.
We wanted to design a project that in addition to facilitating diverse exhibitions, guided tours and events, and to be able to tell about the city’s development through the architecture itself. This is based on having to reach the target audience, the people of Oslo, children and school groups, visitors groups, people who have an interest in urban development, professionals
(architects, engineers, etc.).
The project also aims to focus on good urban development, the building trade´s reputation, show the
agency‘s role as a key player for urban development, show that the agency is modern and forward-looking, and to give visitors a good experience.
We want the project to create enthusiasm among children and adults, young and old.
