The rooftop at London College of Fashion, part of the original design for the central London building, has been transformed by architecture practice Studio Weave. The space is an homage to textiles and concrete. Conceived as an outdoor space for students to relax in, the new roof garden has been laid with brightly coloured decking in a herringbone pattern - a nod to the college's textile roots that has the dual role of emphasising the bold modernist concrete frame of the building. The mixture of planters, seats and tables will enable learning in small groups as well as the Fashion Space Gallery’s events programme. An event series curated by Meneesha Kellay as part of the London Festival of Architecture will launch this new environment.
