The building is built according to the specifications of architectural and urban recommendations of the island of Nantes: - A base 6m height and 1 level " ground floor" contains the program of the school of art. - An accessible terrace opens against the Park Building on the west side of the building . The cafeteria and the school library provide walk- on this terrace . Respective locations of the major elements of the program (studio, terrace, patio ) contribute to the general registration of the building in its immediate context : STUDIO : The presence of the studio , in the heart of the building is manifested by a large opening window on the ground floor to the « Prairie au Duc ». COURSE VISITOR : A pass is created between the school entrance on the ground floor patio and terrace on the base, via the double height main hall and staircase. The terrace is the outdoor extension of the space cafeteria / library. STUDENT RESIDENCE : The student residence moved high on eight successive levels , multi oriented . Rooms and enjoy unobstructed views towards the Loire , Nantes and the various horizons. This volume marks the corner of the parcel and adjacent public rights of way .
