On the south side of Serifos island, near the beautiful beach of “Kalo Ambeli” there is a region called “Chomatovouni” that has remained unspoilt by the tourist 'infrastructure'. The cottage of 180m2 which belongs to a young couple is built on a hill where the soil and rocks have a strong scenographic presence. The peculiar shape of the house serves two purposes: one is to offer a fan of unobstructed breathtaking views and the other is to create terraces protected at all times from the sun and the winds of the Aegean. The building forms a peaceful relationship with the wild landscape, in which it’s incorporated. It combines all the components of the island such as stone, soil, the reeds, wood with the natural colors of the site, creating a traditional yet modern atmosphere.
