Velodromo Maspes Vigorelli | Scandurra Studio

The project aims at reshaping the structure of the Vigorelli working on the external space nearby and on the structure of the velodrome itself, reorganizing each part in relation to the surroundings, creating thus four different situations which revitalize and contextualize the entire space. A big closed square guides the building, it links it to a lost urban space, setting it within a reference system allowing it to interact openly with the urban neighborhood dynamics. A sequence of new covered spaces restore for the daily use paths, trajectories and spaces rarely used so far. [IT] Il progetto mira a far rinascere la struttura del Vigorelli lavorando sullo spazio esterno limitrofo e sul corpo stesso del velodromo, rifunzionalizzandone le singole parti in relazione al tessuto circostante e costruendo quindi 4 diverse situazioni che rivitalizzino l’intero comparto mettendolo a sistema con il contesto. Una grande piazza coperta riorienta l’edificio, lo aggancia ad un tessuto urbano perso, lo inquadra in un sistema di riferimenti consentendogli di avere rapporti vicendevoli e aperti con le dinamiche urbane e di quartiere. Una sequenza di nuovi spazi coperti restituiscono all’uso quotidiano percorsi, traiettorie e spazi ad oggi poco utilizzati.
