"Laica is the outcome of a conceptual exploration of balance as hinge between functional value and stylistic choice. The inspiration to a modernity poised between contingent and unchangeable, between movement and preservation has inevitably led me into approaching an object as ordinary as the bookshelf in a different, unusual way while coming up with a different use and interpretation." Produced in a mini series by Zerogloss in 2007, Laica was made in six different colors and finishes: glossy white, matte black, glossy turquoise, matte khaki, glossy avio and matte indian red. It is the outcome of a 100% craftmade processing which has each and every piece encapsulate the original sculpture inspiration, while adding it the typical charm of the work of art borrowed by design. The shell/frame is made of resin, reinforced with fiberglass so as to ensure added mechanic resistance and flexibility. Laica was presented at “Designers’ Open 2007” in Leipzig and at “Fuori Salone 2008” in Milan.
