Pharmacy in Castelfiorentino | Massimo Mariani

The project concerns the renovation of a building which was built in the beginning of the twentieth century. Placed along Ridolfi road, it originally was the storage room of the railroad station of Castelfiorentino and it has been unused for a long time before the renovation. The elongated rectangular plan occupies about 200 square meters; the half, located in the mid area, is occupied by the shopping area: the chemist’s store, the perfumer’s shop, the parapharmacy. The remaining area holds an office, the laboratory for preparation of drugs, the analysis room, the storehouse, the changing room and some other service rooms. Furniture, entirely designed by the studio, reminds the historical iconography of pharmacy like the green cross which make it immediately recognizable. By the cross we solved the main lighting system in the hall and a few exposition island elements placed in the middle. Everything is green. [IT] Il progetto riguarda la ristrutturazione di un fabbricato dei primi del ‘900, appendice della stazione ferroviaria, da tempo non utilizzato e prospettante su via Ridolfi. Il locale di forma rettangolare allungata ha una superficie complessiva di circa 200 mq, di cui la metà, nella zona centrale, è riservata alla vendita di farmaci, profumeria e parafarmaceutici. La superficie rimanente ospita un ufficio, un laboratorio per la preparazione dei farmaci, un locale analisi, un magazzino, gli spogliatoi per il personale ed alcuni locali di servizio. Gli interni, tutti su disegno, richiamano l’iconografia classica della farmacia, la croce verde, che la rende immediatamente riconoscibile. Con la croce è risolto il sistema di illuminazione del salone e anche parte del sistema espositivo. Tutto di colore verde.
