The house is built on an 9.5m wide and 19m deep corner plot in a new residential suburb of Ho Chi Minh City in Viet Nam. 1/ Designed for a Family of 3 generation members, on 4 levels: - Ground floor with living area and open kitchen, merged all together in one large open space, encouraging interaction between family's members, widely open to the garden and terrace. - Bedrooms on first and second floor, terrace on third floor. 2/ Natural ventilation is crossing the entire house through permanent openings in the back wall and timber screen plugged on balconies in the front, making the house comfortable to live without using the air-conditioning . The multiple "inside-outside" visual connections on the 2 main sides, the natural light and the permanent natural ventilation create a relaxing feeling much appreciate in an urban tropical environment. This project intends to bring an alternative approach for the conception of middle range Vietnamese urban house, combining vernacular construction principles, low cost material solutions and contemporary design.
