Eclipse, W Hotel. Barcelona. Equipped with panoramic views and located on the top floor of the W Hotel in Barcelona, Eclipse aims to achieve a space where the richness of textures and materials create a sensitive balance for the spectator. It is a space with cosmopolitan inclination and, as such, is open to the city in an intimate way. The use of reflective materials, such as stainless steel sheet and the glass in the wall coverings, allows the city to penetrate the bar during the day while distorting the city in the form of reflections. At night, the opposite effect is achieved, due to the wall cover finishes. The bar spills into the city of Barcelona thanks to elements such as the backlit fabric roof and dark flooring on which sit gilded serpentine sofas and dotted around with blue seats and small white tables contrasting with the whole. The implementation of two antagonistic materials such as malleable elastic cloth - backlit and matte - and the bright, rigid stainless steel sinuously-placed sheet, was the most challenging and difficult decision to resolve the project, but at the same time the most stimulating.
