Light House Private Restaurant. Alcobendas, Madrid
Sometimes a good understanding between client and designer leads to the implementation of proposals at and especially high level, and this is one of those occasions. This risky reform of a space - which combines materials and cutting-edge approach - results in a cozy atmosphere for the celebration of different types of events.
The goal was to create a unique space and surrounding which then makes you forget the environment. The contrast between the exterior and interior is surprising. This versatile space adapts daily - taking into account its location - to attend to a mostly executive public. At night, it transforms into a stylish restaurant with careful lighting that brings warmth to the whole. When the diners have finished, the space becomes a cocktail bar, where you can listen to good music and even dance. Due to its characteristics and versatility, it offers up the possibility of organizing private or business events.
The choice of furniture, in harmony with the textiles and lighting, has determined this versatility. The lighting project is instrumental in the creation of different environments, providing adequate lighting for every situation.
The preference for natural materials responds to the desire to be consistent and respectful with the environment, while, at the same time, willing to present products of high functionality. Flooring on the ground level is made of recycled ceramic material. Wood paneling on the walls comes from a saw-mill, which means it is previously untreated and therefore subsequently easily recyclable. For the ceiling, a material of high-sound-absorption has been used, to avoid inconveniencing the neighbors. The large, industrial-style shelves have been designed to accommodate all kinds of objects within the different scenarios of this unique place. As a counterpoint, several Chester leather sofas are distributed around the surface, lending a chic aesthetic to the whole.
