Daps Restaurant. Barcelona
This Barcelona-style restaurant was reformed with the objective of carrying out - in the current climate - a unique project within a limited budget. Different spaces were created for different uses and adapted to the requirements of the time of day - even prompting their simultaneous use - from breakfast through to the last drink of the night.
The project experiments with different textures of wood in traditional Japanese style, using finishes such as MDF, plywood, burnt wood and solid wood. The result is a project that, from a systematic development of wall coverings and using different wood finishes, achieves a dramatic transformation. It is precisely this material - wood - that homogenizes and acts as the driving thread throughout.
A bar monopolizes the main space and welcomes in the visitor. A magnificent lamp lights this informal space equipped with solid wood tables and chairs, giving contrast through their color and construction and made from recycled materials.
Entering the space, the visitor finds a restaurant of a more formal nature, complemented by a warm assortment of materials such as mirrors and colored streamers that invite the outside world to come in.
