PAVILION Congregation and Events Hall Principles of planning: Our design began with the division of the spaces and their link to the lobby and the entrance. The spatial division offers a multi-purpose modular space adjustable according to the size of the event. The kitchen supports and serves each subdivision, and the lighting and sound systems are adjustable according to the varying sizes. This modular system creates a "breathing" ceiling made of woven wooden strips which masks the structure’s relatively low ceiling. The lighting system is also adjustable with artificial light in the walls emulating natural light for daytime events. At night, the ‘smart’ lighting system is hidden in the woven ceiling and is adjustable in terms of intensity and color. The ceiling also masks the technical systems and hidden acoustic materials that absorb sound. Location: Benit House, 14 HaOman St., Talpiot, Jerusalem Area: 4000 sqm Budget: $4,00,000 Year of establishment:2006
