Vellore House is a foster home for 20 abandoned/parentless HIV-positive children. The home is split into five volumes arranged to form two little courtyards. In the center, under a wide roof, a common gathering space can be completely opened on two sides. The house will be built using local standard size bricks burnt into the existing furnace located 500 meters from the plot boundaries. Indoor and outdoor spaces arrangement responds to the local climate by the way of solar orientation and natural ventilation. Both enclosed and open spaces are wrapped by a perforated perimeter wall, whose inner side will be painted in four different colors.
