Located in the livry gargan town, north of paris, the project connects the two existing buildings and was informed by the idea of formulating an ‘open edge’ between the inside and outside, the new and old. all of the classrooms and the yard are orientated towards this lining strip of greenery, offering a series of views to the natural landscape. the use of larch wood on the both the exterior and interior helps to merge these two elements, while also providing a warm and organic atmosphere for the students. upon approach, the pupils are guided through a long corridor of opaque glass until they enter the learning spaces where uninterrupted vistas of the sky and trees are granted.
