Set in an unrivalled location, directly on the banks of Lake Hallwil and against a backdrop of trees, fields and water, lies Seerose – popular tourist destination between Zurich and Bern, dating back to the early 20th century.

The existing accommodation of Classic and Elements has now been expanded with a third force – the Cocon Spa Hotel – complementing the amenities already offered by Seerose, with the inclusion of an indoor swimming pool, spa facilities, an dditional restaurant and 32 suites. Seminar rooms and underground parking complete the offering.

This new facility will have two primary focuses: the well-being and relaxation of guests and the creation of an atmosphere and mood truly reminiscent of Thailand.

In designing this building, we had to contend with its location and the traditional buildings around Lake Hallwil, and so guided by the perspectives of the Seerose concept we delved deeper and deeper into the layers of the lake, the resort and its history to discover the strange in the familiar. Its colours, surfaces, extures, reflections and spatial effects evoke the impression of Thailand. The cocoon and its guiding motif of protection and shelter can be found throughout the entire hotel in many different interpretations.
