Conversion of an old brewery | iulia e cioica

The goal of this project was to revitalize the old building, which is a B classified monument, but in the same time , I wanted to reconnect the entire site with the town. The complexity of the project consisted in analyzing the status of the site in the town, both topographical and historical. The memory of the site is important in the community, which was strongly influenced by the industrial periods and the transformations that took place over the years. It`s a project of Re-Use; The building was built in several phases and while the oldest part has an important architectural value, the other one has a resource value, the structure can be successfully re-used for newer functions. The project gave birth to a mutual relationship between the existent building and the newer functions. While the new program achieved a particularity being hosted by the existent spaces, the old building reinvented itself, being highlighted by the new functions.
