(Eto Kenta) 築後３０年以上経過したＲＣ３階建て２ＤＫアパートの空き部屋となった１室のリノベーションである。 建物は大分市の中心市街地周辺にあり、住宅やマンションが密集している場所に立地している。 要望では、若年層に住み継いでもらう事及び居住者の住み方に対する多面性への対応や時代の変化に追従できるように自由で汎用性の高い空間が求められ、内部を解体してプランや住み方をリストラクチャーして提案する必要があった。 ルームと名づけた場はリビングや寝室にあたり、家具や植物などを移動しながら居住者が自由に領域をつくり出していくための空間である。 水廻りであるサニタリーは、トイレ・洗面・浴室機能のほかに、既存開口部を残し外部とつなげて設ける事で、外光、通風と十分な広さを確保しドライエリアと しても機能させた。また、室内側への仕切りにガラスを設けることでワンルームでの距離感・開放性を失わないようにした。 仕上げ材には、床、壁、天井に白色のつやあり塗装を選択し、６ｍ×６ｍの限られた空間の中でコーナー部分の境界を曖昧にさせるとともに空間を視覚的に膨張させることで 広がりをもたせた。また、仕切り方にファブリック等の簡易な素材を選択する事で、空間の汎用性を高めた。 ガラスの透明度や反射、又はファブリック素材の半透明度をワンルーム内でまとめて重ね合わせることで、距離感や開放性を確保しながらも生活の領域をつくり出せるような 、ニュートラルで奥行きのあるワンルーム空間をつくりたいと思った。  (江藤健太)
