MARECHIARO

Geographically oriented cultural identities are not a stable and definitive unity but a changeable blend of ideological positions, cultural assignments and evidences, more or less benevolent commonplaces and social codes: they can be effectively represented by means of recognizable signs, both linguistic and iconographic. The aim of this coat hook is the transformation into visual language of vague suggestions, of a cliché on the popular and allegorical, but always fascinating italianity. MARECHIARO expresses a tribute to Italy and to a way of feeling simple, not culturally evolved but deep-seated in the popular mentality in spite of the pressure of the technological present time. At the same time, this work is an example of personalisation of coat hooks to be utilized in offices, shops, or private spaces, simply personalising the resin disk with commercial trademarks or other images.
