The extension to the North Stand at Hampden Park for Hampden Park Ltd was successfully completed in May 2013. Designed by a Holmes Miller led consultant team and constructed by ISG, the project was completed on programme to host the William Hill Scottish Cup Final between Hibernian and Celtic. These works are an essential element of the Hampden Campus which will allow the stadium to host the track and field athletics events and the closing ceremony of the XX Commonwealth Games, in 2014. The works have created a new public face and identity for the northern side of the stadium, extending the existing North Stand concourse to provide facilities that will bring an uplift in spectator comfort during the period of the Commonwealth Games and which will also leave a permanent legacy for the improved operation of Hampden Park.
