asian motives are very well embedded inside a modern resturant: bonzai trees on one wall, porcelan plates decorated with japanees paterns on the other, surrounding you are textures taken from the Wabi Sabi culture and the portrait of Mr. & Mrs. Lee who inspired Ben Aderet in opening the resturant. But the design is not a simple and obvious one - since in a contrast to these well recognized asian motives the resturant is lighted and furnished in a way that gives you the feeling of exploring a new modern Tokyo boulvard. Every detail was carfully picked: the wooden-marbel bar, copper ceiling, various tables, chairs and the color of the walls gives the diner the illusion that the space is much wider than it really is. The design combines the contrast of old and new asian motives, in a way that emphasized the food served while fullfilling the total experience in which the message you get from visiting Mr. & Mrs. Lee is a very innovating up-to date asian restaurant.
